Our Programs
Home-based ABA Therapy
Autism Support Network's primary service offering is Home-based
ABA Therapy. It is therapy provided in the natural environment
that will allow the child the opportunity to use and master
the skills acquired through therapy- helping to0 facilitate
generalization. Behavior issues in the home can be observed
directly and can be addressed where and when the behaviors
are occurring.
Parents will have the
opportunity to be more involved in their child's therapy
and progress. This knowledge and involvement with their
child's program enables them to manage behavioral issues
with procedures that give results. In addition, siblings
or neighborhood children can participate in teaching and
reinforcing social skills and play skills.
Intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Treatment Program
is intended for children upwards of 2 years of age who have
a diagnosis of Autism or on the Autism Spectrum. ASN's Intensive
ABA programs are developed within the framework of behavior
analysis and are designed for the context of home. Each
child's program generally consists of 15 to 40 hours per
week of 1:1 intervention.
The treatment model is 'team-based', i.e., the ASN team
provides assessment, initial and on-going training, weekly
consultation, supervision, lesson development/progression,
and troubleshooting strategies at team meetings. The focus
of the child's program is based on his/her individual needs
and learning style where systematic teaching focuses on
those deficits that have interfered with the child's ability
to participate and interact with his family and peers. Critical
skills such as language, play, self-help, initiation and
socialization are taught to the child. Day to day routines
are also established in each child's repertoire to encourage
the generalization of concepts and skills.
